I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Akamai (Bangalore Rural)
Interview
The interview process consisted of three rounds:
1) Group Discussion
2) Technical Round (1 hour)
3) Managerial Round (1 hour)
It was an on-site interview conducted at Akamai’s Bangalore office. Candidates should be well-prepared and have a strong understanding of networking and security fundamentals. The interviewers expect you to connect the dots between concepts rather than just memorizing definitions.
For example, if you’re studying DNS, make sure to go beyond theory, understand how DNS functions end-to-end, including recursive and iterative queries, caching, and real-life troubleshooting scenarios. It’s highly recommended to work on real-world case studies, analyze common DNS issues, and learn their solutions to demonstrate practical understanding.
A majority of students get eliminated in the GD round itself.
The Managerial Round is pretty unpredictable. Sometimes it’s fully technical, and other times it’s more about personality or situation-based questions, it really depends on who’s interviewing you.
Overall, the interview process was detailed and focused on assessing both technical depth and problem-solving ability.
