Typical software company - recruiter screening, first report interview, second and third interviews. I was told in third interview I was the person they would like to hire and told last interview was a formality. Conducted last interview and was asked if I would be interested in heading up a vertical for them. I was perfect for the role, etc. Received a decline email 4 days later stating I had too much experience in the vertical I was asked about. It would be nice if they would more transparent and honest with their candidates.
