I applied online. I interviewed at Alcon in Mar 2022
Interview
I applied online, was contacted soon after and got convinced by the recruiter and hiring manager that my profile and experience better fits another role so I agreed to proceed. I was interviewed by 2 Sr. Directors/Heads & VP of the BU (boss of the hiring manager). All interviews went well and was told to expect their decision in a very short timeframe. Days passed and no update, I reached out to the recruiter twice and once to the hiring manager. No response, zero communication. I was ghosted out after waking up the VP at 3AM (because that’s the time the recruiter planned our call for - ridiculous) which is totally unprofessional. Normally when I used to hire people in my team (even below manager level) I made sure they get a proper response and feedback. But I’m unpleasantly surprised this is the behavior towards candidate applying and making thru all rounds on global director level. In addition during the first call the recruiter started to comment my salary requirements that they should be lower because of my current location (which I said is temporary due to several reasons) not taking into consideration my previous residency and international salary for role which I used to held. People were nice and would be an interesting challenge but being ghosted out is a watch out for any senior leader.
