I first had a brief phone interview with the corporate recruiter and then an on-site interview with the hiring manager. We started with a tour of the site and then sat down to discuss the role.
I really appreciated the opportunity to talk to the hiring manager and team members that just so happened to be visiting from the site in Italy. Everyone was very welcoming, sweet, kind and professional. Surely I would have enjoyed working with this team.
I ended up declining the offer but it was solely based on the benefits package. The offered vacation and medical coverage was not on a par with industry standards and wasn't perhaps what one would expect of a Swedish company.
One thing that I did find odd was that, after I declined the offer I never heard another word from the corporate recruiter. There wasn't even an acknowledgement of me declining. Just got an automated email a few days later that said that the offer had been voided.
