Allen Institute for AI Software Engineer interview questions

1 - Hiring manager (Asked about background) 2 - coding phone (medium-level problem). The interviewer was really good, had a great chat. I was able to solve the question. 3- virtual onsite round 1 - The interviewer asked me really great question. I really enjoyed solving the problem. This round went really well round 2 - for the first 5 min she wasn't able to hear anything due to technical issues. after that she asked me a very vague question. I spend 20 minutes to ask and clarify questions, she didnt knew what she wanted and kept repeating I'm asking this question for the first time. I narrowed down question in a a normal coding problem and coded it and explained 2 different approach. after that she pasted some javascript code even though my preferred programming language of choice was a python and told me to design different classes for the given problem. she wanted me to use the property of one class into another class I tried to do it with inheritance but she was confused by simple inheritance logic and told me not to use it(Really?). but i kept explaining how i can do this with inheritance only - this was the stupidest interview ever. In the end, she seemed satisfied but this round broke my confidence. round 3 - The interviewer was principal engineer and told me to implement the class design of one of the feature of semantic scholar. The interviewer was really knowledgeable and he exactly knew what he was asking. I was really upset and had a mental breakdown after my second interview. wasn't able to fully understand the requirements. Implemented a partial class design. this round didn't go well. round 4 - Hiring manager 45 min behavioral and 15 min of reverse interview. this round went well. I really wanted to join Ai2 because of their mission and work and I was planning to renege Amazon for them but anyways, in the end, it was 2 months long and tiring process. Everyone from Ai2 were really smart and friendly, I believe it was just luck, if I had someone else interview me for the second round, the result could have been different. I hope no one encounters that girl in their interviews.
