I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Allstate in Mar 2015
Interview
Only had an HR Interview. It was a little weird. He started negotiating about salaries, and tried to negotiate and see how low I can go. When I said that if the opportunity is interesting, I can definitely negotiate on the salary part, then he reminded me how high the living costs in the area were!
He spent a lot of time on what salaries he can pay to new hires etc, except for a cursory question on projects and languages I know.
Never got a call back after that. Maybe it was just that HR person.
4 rounds started with phone call, 2 technical rounds and one meet and greet with director. the technical rounds focused on my projects where they asked about my model selection, cultural fit
30 minute recruiter screening covering behavioral and technical experiences, including overview of development work and navigating ambiguity in projects. Did not hear back on next round, which includes technical interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Discuss an experience sharing results with non-technical stakeholders.
Too long, was 2 rounds but second round had 5 parts and took hours. In the end, didn’t get the job. Overall would not waste your time doing this interview. It was fully online, team was chill tho
