I submitted an application online, got invited to the QA video session, hour-long interview with the recruiter, two-hour long case study interview and then interview with the vice president. First, they were super friendly because I work abroad and they were able to conduct all these interviews online for me. While none of the interviews were difficult, you just have to prepare, I felt it was awfully difficult to connect with the VP. Because I currently have a job and I really love my company, he kept pushing me to almost badmouth my company and why I want to leave. It just felt awfully uncomfortable and I think because I refused to say anything bad, he didn't seem to care for me and thought I wouldn't accept this position (ultimately he was right, I mainly used this as a tactic to get onto better accounts in my current job). I think this is the perfect entry job for anyone who is unsure of what their future and just concerned about money, however, there seems to be no longevity in this career. I asked one of the boys interviewing me what is his next step after this and his answer proved that he recognized Alphasights is just a one-time thing but there seems to be no career in this industry afterward. I do think Alphasights seems a bit like recruiting, yet I also believe with a different strategy they can become more of a strategic consultancy focused on stakeholder mapping and outreach. Yet for now, they are too concerned about "easy money" and sales. Simply put: if you want this job, just jump on their bandwagon and stroke their ego and you'll get the job.
