I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Dec 2018
Interview
I applied for a position at AlphaSights through a recruiting agency. Upon being selected for an interview, I was asked to re-record myself answering prepopulated questions (I already did this through the recruiting agency). Anyway, I happily redid my video interview and made it to the 2nd round. When speaking with the AlphaSights recruiter for my round 2 interview, I noticed the interview seemed very scripted on her end. When I would ask questions, the answers given were not direct and did not even answer my question. Moreover, she made it less of a conversation and more of a test. When I would answer her questions (correctly may I add), she would then tell me what my answer should have been (a.k.a. the exact wording used on their website) even though we were saying the exact same thing.
Long story short, if you want to work at a place where everyone seems to be cookie-cutter and has the same thinking process then apply to work here! If you're like me and value critical thinking and individuality then it may be best to look elsewhere. All-in-all, they're a good company but we just weren't right for each other.
The management consulting interview process typically involves multiple rounds, starting with screening calls, followed by case studies, and behavioral interviews, focusing on problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and cultural fit. It was more on the behavioural and cultural fit as opposed to the technical aspects.
Behavioral-based interview that is quite common among other firms. Really know why you want to be a part of the firm. Gave a video to watch and asked questions regarding that as well.
There are 3 rounds of interviews, 2 behavioral, 1 "case". First two rounds are easy but last round was an hour long of only behavioral questions. Overall not too bad but just very long
