The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (London, England) in Aug 2019
Interview
Honestly what an AWFUL process.
1. Phone interview. I cannot exaggerate enough how uninterested the interviewer is in this interview. They just need to get through the list of questions and hardly listen to what you have to say. I think they're just checking you can be understood. They say 15 mins but it is so rushed it is done in 10. Q's such as: Why this uni? Why this course? What have you been doing since? What do you know about AS? What do you know about the role? Are you driven by targets?
2. HR interview. You go into London for an HOUR interview with HR. They ask you pretty much the same questions as the first round, but listen to your answers this time (wouldn't need to do this if they listened the first time). Q: Why uni? Why course? What do you know about AS? Who are our clients? What differentiates AS? Where else are you applying?
3. Case Study Interview. 1.5 HOUR interview with a manager. 30 mins to read over case study (they were late giving it to me so I had less time). Rude lady who felt was trying to catch me out rather than help and assist. For a company that says they recruit any degree - you have to know the ins and outs of business structures and PE funds pretty well to answer these questions. I was told it would move to normal style interview at the end but clearly she was so bored she asked one and then that was done. Q: Find the company coming up for sale? How would you know by the ownerships structure if it was coming up for sale? Find some experts .. why them? What would you ask them? What does the client need to know?
4. VP interview if you get through.
Never got asked any competencies or skills of my own. They are looking for someone who already knows the answers - not someone to be trained.
DONT BOTHER - WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY WITH NO TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS
Easy and transparent with steps and timeline. Took about 2 weeks from start to offer but flexible with timing of interviews, you make times mostly, with final round as exception
I applied online. I interviewed at AlphaSights (San Francisco, CA)
