I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Oct 2022
Interview
Straightforward, but I withdrew my application after moving onto the final round. Only apply if you’re sure you want a SALES POSITION. The info video that they send you makes it very clear that AS doesn’t produce knowledge— it’s a glorified call center (read the Reddit posts). I decided it was not the work I wanted to do, but I’m grateful the interview process was so honest with what the job entails.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
First round was all behavioral/situational questions, walking through my resume with an HR rep
Second round was the case study, you find experts and are asked to simulate a recruitment. Lots of negotiating pay scenarios (the expert you’re recruiting wants X amount of money, but you can only pay them Y, how do you negotiate them down?)
questions about resume and applicability to the role, also asked what other roles i’m recruiting for. didn’t get a second interview but i wasn’t too enthusiastic —- wish I’d rehearsed my answers to why Alphasights before
1st call interview >2nd hr interview > case study interview(if passed) > final interview(if passed). all interview is proceeding with English. and native speakers are needed. and hr people were kind
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. why I want to move my job
2. what's my long-term goal
Interview process was ok, several stages and language test as it was a particular language speaking role, only downside really was very little feedback given at the end when not successful. When I asked for a feedback call as to why I wasn’t successful they didn’t answer my question and it was a 2 mins call saying that I was just unsuccessful.
