During a job interview for a marketing position at a well-known agency, the candidate was asked a series of very technical, IT-specific questions completely unrelated to the role. Despite trying to steer the conversation back to their expertise in brand strategy and campaign management, the interviewer kept pushing for detailed answers about server configurations and backend infrastructure. To make matters worse, halfway through the interview, the fire alarm in the building went off, forcing everyone outside for 30 minutes. When they finally resumed, the interviewer seemed even more distracted and asked the same irrelevant questions all over again. The candidate left the interview unsure if they’d even been assessed for the job they applied for.
A hirevue completed online followed by a behavioral interview over zoom with an HR rep. It was fairly standard behavioral questions and they ask you to describe what the company does.
Very smooth and takes place quickly after application and with a real person which is nice. The questions aim to test your understanding of the work you will be doing and the competitive landscape of the industry.
Process had three rounds: screener, case study, and final, hour long in-depth interview. The recruiter was very transparent and supportive throughout the process and let you know what to expect with each round.
