I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
The process began online when I submitted my CV and a 200 word response akin to a cover letter of sorts. I received a response to complete a video assessment, which people have accurately described below. Do your research for this on what AlphaSights does and practice answers to the questions people have listed. I was then contacted for the next round for a google hangout interview, which was like a skype call with an HR person there. This interview was a bit tough and off-putting. The interview was really rude and laughing during it as obviously there were people around her she was talking to and interacting with in the office. Tactically, it seemed she was firing off questions and wanted to make me uncomfortable. She fired off questions and did not engage with my responses unless she didn't seem to like them or wanted to push me further. Fortunately, I was contacted for the next round interview in the office. I recommend you prepare and research a lot for this as well. I met with 2 managers who went over the associate role, a bit about them and then prepared me for the 15 minute case exercise where you choose two advisors based on info they present. They return and I conducted a phone call as if I were trying to get them to work for AlphaSights. We then went over what I did well and didn't do well. Second, a VP get in and met with me to do the behavioral part of the interview. He asked me if I had any reservations about my qualifications for the role, what I don't like about my current position, what other places/organizations i'm applying to etc. I am unsure what the next round is, but he said they would be in touch in the next few days regarding next steps in the process - I only chose I did not get an offer on glassdoor because it prompts you to have to choose one. I'm still awaiting.

Easy and transparent with steps and timeline. Took about 2 weeks from start to offer but flexible with timing of interviews, you make times mostly, with final round as exception
