      Technical Program Manager Interview

      Jan 30, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jan 2018

      Interview

This was my sixth interview with Amazon in past 2 years. Every time , I cleared first technical round and get rejected in second round. Last time, I got rejected by Recruiter - technical round. Sometimes, I feel all these are fake interviews created to collect data for GC processing candidates. Just to show we interviewed these candidates and couldnt fine the best candidate. Till last year, they used to conduct actual telephonic interviews, but now a days they ask to fill a assessment form in which they ask to design a entire system for one liner problem. And then recruiter mentions there will quick call with her before actually proceeding to onsite interviews and wherein she asks technical questions which she doesnt understand the answers and later send email saying they are moving with another candidate. My advice is dont entertain the telephonic or online assessment. If they actually invite you to onsite interview then only prepare hard. After all Amazon is one one of the worlds top company with huge technical asset and that working experience should be great for lifetime. Only, their interview process needs to be improved.

Overall the communication started out strong from the recruiter but then I did not hear anything regarding the interview scheduling. Apparently I was too late into the process after all, and did not get an interview.

      Interview

My interview process began with an online assessment, followed by a panel loop of five consecutive interviews. The rounds focused heavily on the company's Leadership Principles using STAR-method behavioral questions, including a "Bar Raiser" to ensure candidates exceed the current team's average.

      Brisbane
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Brisbane) in May 2026

      Interview

I applied online. After about a week or two, a recruiter from Amazon phoned me and we spoke for about 45 minutes. He was very pleasant to speak to, we covered some basics around the role and its expectations, and he laid out the next steps in the interview process, including the STAR method. The second step was a line manager interview where he focused on details of past projects and lessons / outcomes. The next step (which I didn't make it to) would have consisted of several interviewers asking different types of questions, and at this stage you don't need to satisfy each interviewer. I presume after this they give you a result. Much of what is documented online aligns with my experiences.
