For me the interview process was very long. However, the length of time had more to do with me starting the interview well before my availability, and also the fact that I interviewed for multiple jobs before receiving an offer. The actual time from start to finish for the last job was less than 2 weeks. I was very impressed with the entire process and I was able to learn a lot about Amazon at every step. Part I: Initial phone screen was in Nov. 2014 and that led to two 45 minute phone interviews in December. At the end of the 2nd phone interview, it was apparent that the job was not the best fit. I was told they would get back to me. Shortly later, I received a job description, expressed interest, and was able to do a phone interview in January. That went well and I was invited to Seattle for an interview loop in February (six 45 minute individual interviews). Unfortunately, I did not receive an offer, however the entire process was very professional and everyone was extremely friendly. Part II: In late June I was contacted to set up a phone interview for a different Amazon job. It was not a job that I had applied for but the recruiter said she was reviewing my resume for a job that I had applied for but thought I'd be a better fit for this other on. That phone interview went well and the next day I was invited for an onsite interview loop in July. That consisted of five 45 minute individual interviews. It went quite well but I received a call from the recruiter a couple of days later saying that the team was moving forward with other candidates. However, the hiring manager thought I'd be a good fit for Amazon and was going to work to facilitate a shortened interview with a different team. Part III: In late July, I was contacted by a recruiter on a Monday and by Tuesday had an onsite abbreviated interview loop scheduled with three people on Wednesday. Those interviews went well and by Friday I received an e-mail stating that an offer would be coming! The offer came the following week and I accepted! I was very impressed with the entire process. Even though there were so many interviews, it was only because of the number of positions I was being considered for along the way and I could tell that Amazon really wanted to ensure a great fit between me and the company. I could not have been more impressed. Everyone was so friendly and I can't wait to start working for such a great company.
