      User Experience Design Interview

      Sep 26, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amazon

      Interview

There was one 30 minutes phone interview, and two 45 minutes back to back on site interviews. The interviewers are designers from different team. Most of the questions are behavioral questions that are pretty easy to answer, they ask you to relate your personal experience. For the two design questions, they basically just see how you think, and doesn't necessarily have to provide a design solution.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Design a airport experience. Redesign the amazon.con home page.

      Interview

First there was an online workstyle assessment. Once you pass that, you'll have a 1 on 1 Interview going over your portfolio and behavioral questions. Finally it's time for the loop. For me this consisted of a case study presentation, whiteboarding exercise, and 5 interviews focused on behavioral questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They were mainly "Tell me about a time..." questions. "Tell me about a time you uncovered a problem for your customer and how did you solve it?"
