I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2025
Interview
It's not really a difficult interview as much as it is to please the interviewers. Whoever said you don't necessarily need to code every coding problem fully but showing how you approach and come up with a solution will help you get past the interview is kidding themselves. Plus I thought my leadership principles stories were well framed in their suggested STAR format highlighting my achievements/contributions/lessons learnt effectively, but seems like that wasn't enough either. With 2/3 coding challenges completed to near perfection and 1 almost done but having described the remainder of the fixes to the satisfaction of the bar raiser, wasn't good enough for Amazon. As far as system design goes, I was asked a fairly simple 'parking system' design question and I thought it went great. But it seems the bar is extremely high now. Good luck to future candidates!

Interview
The overall experience exceeded expectations due to the exceptional attention to detail, consistently professional communication, thoughtful execution, and impressive reliability throughout the entire process. Every aspect was handled efficiently, resulting in a seamless, highly satisfactory outcome that demonstrated both expertise and a strong commitment to quality.
Interview was conducted well. Questions were fair, just wasn't prepared well enough. Brush up on your data structures and basic algorithms. The programming language used doesn't matter. Prepare past experiences stories beforehand so you are ready when asked about an experience.
