      Flight Attendant Interview

      Jan 25, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2021

      Interview

After completing the assessment online, I got an invite to the group interview months later. The group interview was about 30 candidates and 3 recruiters. We each had one minute to introduce ourselves along with a fun fact. Then, we were asked one interview question each, the same question was asked to about 2 people. These questions ranged from personal opinions to STAR format customer service questions. It did not feel like they were judging on the quality of the answer, but rather getting a feel of each candidate (professionalism, appearance/smile, voice). I received the face to face interview invitation within a few days of the group interview. The campus where they conduct the interviews is giant and easy to get lost in, so make sure to get there at least an hour early! Once it was our time to check in, they lined us up to check our passports. Then we were taken to a conference room and split up into about 5 tables (there were around 45 candidates total, 8-9 people at each table). We began with a written assessment - a theoretical situational question where you rank your options and explain why. Two recruiters sat at each table as we went around the table to introduce ourselves with a fun icebreaker question. After introductions, we completed the group activity, a fun and short project that was related to the flight attendant job. They let us decide how to present, and most groups presented as a group without a leader. Once the group project was finished, the recruiters came back to each table and asked each person around the table an interview question that was STAR format and customer service related. After this, a group was sent home. We were then taken to complete the reach test (I’m very short and didn’t pass other airline reach tests but this one was easy!) and a jump seat test. Then we were taken out one by one to speak with two recruiters. I was only asked one interview question, and it felt very casual and welcoming, but I heard that the amount of questions asked depends on the recruiters and the candidate. I was given an offer on the spot and was taken to a room to complete some forms. If you have a morning interview time and get an offer, you may also complete drug tests on the same day.
