      Specialist, Baggage Resolution Interview

      Oct 5, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tempe, AZ
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Tempe, AZ) in Sep 2015

      Interview

I received an email from a recruiter at American Airlines requesting an interview. I interviewed with two individuals and was asked standard situation and behavior questions. About a week after the interview I emailed the recruiter stating I was still interested in the position and was wondering if I was still a prospective candidate. She did respond letting me know I was. A few days went by and I received a phone call from someone at American Airlines who stated, "This is _____ at American Airlines regarding the Specialist, Baggage Resolution position. We're happy to offer you the job, do you want it?" I asked about the benefits, ins etc and was told once I'm employed HR would provide me that information. I also had to ask about how much the job was paying because she didn't inform me of that. A little advice to American Airlines, be a little more professional and courteous when offering a job to candidates. A job and its benefits are very important to an individual and their family and shouldn't be dismissed.

      Interview

I applied online and later in the week got an email that I was in the running for the position. I was then scheduled for an in person interview. The interviewers were kind and very friendly. About a week later I got an email stating that I have been accepted for the position and I would receive an offer shortly. I received my offer of 18.00 per hour and full benefits. I accepted the position and was told training would start at the end of the month with 30 other candidates that have been also hired. It is 8 weeks paid training. The facility is beautiful I am looking forward to it.
