I was hired through ManPower temporary service, so technically there was no formal interview with American Greetings. Over the 10 years I was employed, this was almost always the case. Even if you had a friend's recommendation, you were steered through the temp service. From that point, you stand a decent chance at being hired full time, as long as you're a decent worker. They mostly hire the temps in order of seniority, but if you've missed many days they will skip over you.
