I am currently on the hunt for a job and out of the blue, I got a call from "Tamika" who apparently reviewed my resume that I had never submitted and thought I would be a good fit for a role. Later in the call she told me that they could only see a glimpse at most recent position, so clearly their reviewing my resume was a lie. Anyway, on the phone I asked about the company and the role (since I'd never applied and had no clue what it was). She let me know the role was "not a call center role" and when I asked what I would be doing, she said she "could not explain it fully and the manager would do that in person when I come in". I was intrigued so I let her know I would be able to come in that next morning. I was told to bring my resume and references, and to dress professionally. When I arrived a few minutes early, I was the only person there, and it took me at least a few minutes to get the attention of the woman at the front desk. They handed me a novel of paperwork to fill out and brought me into a room with a bunch of chairs and music blaring which was so strange. Person after person was also ushered into the room over the next 10 minutes, and there were about 15 people there by the time they started. They started off by screaming GOOD MORNING and was then extremely rude suggesting we were not excited to be there since we were all extremely confused why we were being addressed as a group and didn't know what was happening. They then gave us a 45 minute sales pitch on how we can make $100,000 in 12 months because they just have the best benefits and 11/12 people they try to sell insurance to accepts, which I researched and is incorrect. HIGHLIGHTS: -Pay is comission only, they get paid *twice a week* and apparently after 2 years you will be making 200K -If you're offered a job you must get certified and have a credit card ready to pay $255 on the spot -Hours are not 9-5, M-F, they let us know you will be working late and from 9-1 on saturdays Overall, there was a very poorly done power point, and we were told that we would be "judged on our posture and note taking" which is literally so absurd. I did not get the chance to talk to anyone one on one and seriously debated walking out the entire time. At the end they gave us as survey asking us to put down good contact info (which i literally had already provided 3 times already) and our thoughts on the position. I went with it to see what would happen. They offered me a position on the spot without even talking with me which is hysterical. I declined and they tried to *reassure me* of the AMAZING opportunity i was passing up and tried to get me to give them my credit card. This is such a scam. PLEASE heed my warning and do not fall for their scheme.
