I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Income Life (Ottawa, ON) in Jan 2016
Interview
Prior to my interview, I researched the company. There were a lot of postings here on Glassdoor (and elsewhere) that put up a lot of red flags, i.e. that all the jobs they were posting -- regardless of the title or description -- were all for the entry level job of a 100% commission-based insurance agent.
When I went to the interview, it was clear these warnings were accurate. In short, they completely misrepresented themselves in what seems to be a deliberate recruiting strategy to use the widest net possible to catch as many fish as possible.
I was well qualified for the job they were advertising for and highly overqualified for the job(s) they were looking to fill.

Are there specific things you're NOT looking for in terms of a new job?

Interview
Applied for this job on LinkedIn and got a call the next day. There were over 40 applicants and it felt weird, but I decided to give it a shot.
The initial phone interview was less than 4 minutes long. Immediately wanted to schedule an in-person interview for as soon as possible.
I booked the in-person interview, and then did some research on the company. Immediately called back and cancelled the interview. I asked what kind of job responsibilities I would have, and she did not mention anything about sales (which is what this job is).
