I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Red Cross (Birmingham, AL) in Apr 2014
Interview
I had an in person interview almost immediately. The person interviewing was very friendly and asked a lot of questions, but they were straight off of a list. She didn't ask anything personal, I had to take the opportunity to make personal plugs when I could and how my skills related to the job description.

Interview
Extremely shady hiring practice. There was no interview. They already had a candidate lined up. They reached out just to tick a box. I am wondering what working there would look like with this mess.
At the beginning of the interview, they explained that they were actually about to offer the position to someone else, but wondered if I would be interested in eventually interviewing for a lower paid position.

Are you willing to work an unpredictable, irregular schedule?
Written job description and verbal interview was fine. I didn't have a chance to come in for a face to face interview. I believe the job was eventually awarded to someone with greater skill sets they were looking for.
