A recruiter external to Ampirical initially reached out to me on LinkedIn and I thought the role description was interesting. We had an initial discussion that I thought went well. I sent my resume over and there was no acknowledgement of receipt of my resume or anything. I didn't hear anything back for 1.5 to 2 months so made up my mind that this wasn't the role for me. Ampirical finally reached out and I figured I'd at least entertain the initial screening interview. Well, the role seemed significantly different than what the external recruiter had described. I gathered that the company is looking for a "short term" consultant to straighten things out...and the role would eventually go away. I don't feel the screening call provided a fair opportunity to explain my qualifications. Instead, the interviewer spent more time talking about himself than I did talking about myself. A 30 minute discussion easily turned into 45 minutes and I barely got to explain my qualifications. I received a rejection email shortly afterwards, which was fine because this company has work to do as far as benefits are concerned. As a senior level candidate, it's unacceptable to accept only 2 weeks of vacation when starting a new job.
