I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Amyris
Interview
Pros: The people were very friendly. The job was described well. I had the opportunity to ask my future manager all the questions I had. The problem-solving exercise was fun. The whole process was composed of several 1:1s but it took just a week. The communication with the recruiter was smooth, fast, and respectful. Cons: The process could be shortened by having fewer people in the interview panel. In my case, I had more than 10 people interviewing me. There was little time for me to ask questions in a few 1:1s. Overall, the experience and the first impact were positive.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amyris
Interview
First interview was a skype call with three scientists. This was followed, one week later by an all-day interview consisting of a presentation and two-on-one interviews for the rest of the day. Everyone was very nice and open, making it seem like an excellent, collaborative workplace. I did not receive an offer, but feel very positive about the experience and that they likely felt I was not the best fit for the position. They seem like a great company with a promising future.
