I didn't directly apply to this position. I originally was doing a reference for someone else and the HR person tried to recruit me, and asked me to look at their current openings. I did and I applied to one that interested me. When I spoke to HR they said it was an overnight position (which wasn't noted in the posting) so I declined, and they said well I have a position that we think you would love, which was the Grad Prog. Instructor. I accepted and came in for an interview directly with the supervisor of that position. Interview was average, asked some questions about my background in the field. Then they had me spend 15 min sitting in on the classroom to observe. Afterwards they asked me what I thought. Then at the very end they stated soooo if we already have someone for this position how would you feel about being a Teaching Assistant instead then working your way up. I declined and explained that that would cause me to step down from where I am with my current position at my current employer. Their tone changed and the interview was over. They said that HR would reach out shortly. I sent a thank you emailed afterwards, then never heard from anyone since.
