I applied online. I interviewed at Appen (Manila, Manila) in Apr 2019
Interview
I applied via Linkedin. Someone from HR messaged me to confirm my application and asked me to come to their office. It took me a couple of weeks to get there due to conflict of schedule on my part.
I was informed that I need to pass a qualifying exam before the interview. I went to their office and was given a laptop to assess my skills. The exam was an hour or so and I was interviewed right after. I was told I passed the exam. The initial interview with the HR took 2 hours.
I was informed that I had to go to a panel interview later in the evening with several superiors. The panel interview took an hour or so.
Next day, I was informed that I passed the interview. Not only that, I am being offered the Project Manager position.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Appen in Apr 2022
Interview
I was reached out by a staffing company and was asked to interview for the job. Did the screener then was passed onto a manager internally. Very straightforward questioning. Was given an assignment to do and turn it back in. I asked specifically what they were looking for and delivered the results they were looking for.
Got feedback that it was lacking details. I specifically asked the manager how much detail they were looking for and they specifically it doesn’t have to be detailed because i don’t have knowledge of their systems work. They were just looking to see how I’d like the type of assignments I’d be receiving. All in all the process more so on the negative side because the instructions I was provided were purposely to set me up for failure not success. If they had no interest they should’ve let it be known rather than waste my time doing an assignment.
did not make it far. they just emailed me initially asking how much i'd like salary wise and when i am available for a phone call. didn't hear back for a few weeks then they told me they werent going to move forward
I had one interview with the recruiter and second interview with the hiring managers. They usually respond fast. It can last from one day and up to a week. The questions are mostly related to your past experience. However, I prepared all the the qualification in the job description but they are still might not be the answers they are looking for. I think in the future, I think the company should better clearly outline the actual job responsibilities for the role. Some of them are just copy/paste from another job description and qualification. Please be more specific, so the Candidates can be better prepared for the details in it.
