I received several follow-up emails and a call from a woman in response to a job posting at the Appen Bothell, WA office. While initially excited about the prospect, after coming to Glassdoor and reading the reviews posted, I had some concerns. These concerns only increased when I attempted to return the call as requested and the number that I was given (the same one posted as their office number...) instead went to a mobile phone's standard voicemail (i.e.. You have reached ###-####, please leave your message after the beep...). I did leave a message, and responded to the emails I received from them as well. Big surprise, I did not receive any further response at all. Honestly I feel like I dodged a bullet here. Maybe this was just my experience and this is not indicative of how they normally treat employees or potential employees, but after reading other reviews here, I think not. A simple email stating "Thank you for your interest, but we have decided to go in another direction." would take less than 5 mins to send, and not taking the time to do so a) is quite rude, and b) suggests that they have no respect for other people's time and effort (I spent about three days trying to sort this mess out). If you are considering applying or interviewing or even accepting an offer here, I would look elsewhere. Or at least be extremely cautious and go in with both eyes open. Good luck!
