His call consisted of a number of fair questions and unsolicited criticisms of my past experience, including minutiae to which he responded "I would expect my engineer to know" yadayadayada. The conversation was adversarial with frequent interruptions, as much lecture as interview. This was a valuable process however in that I learned what a know-it-all this boss was, and how I was not a fit.
