I was approached via a recruiter for Arch Insurance in London for VP, Head of Delivery.
I had 7 interview in total with a mixture of online and in person in the office. 4 were in person and all on the same day. Throughout the whole process the people I met were really pleasant and welcoming in the interviews.
As I moved through the process the interviews didn't change and were repeating the same thing. After the last interview I was told that it was a 99% chance it was going to be a success. Then when I was supposed to hear I didn't. Days went past then weeks. when I did hear I was told I wasn't technical enough. This was odd because I was not asked a single technical question, there were no tests and I didn't have to explain or show any technical ability.
After I questioned this feedback asking how the conclusion was made I was then told it wasn't that but they interviewed someone else and they were sucessful.
A week later I was contacted by the in-house recruiter as they had seen my profile on LinkedIn and wanted to speak to me about the same position. I replied with the explanation of the previous process, the response was that the message was meant for someone else.
It was a complete disaster after the last interview where no-one could tell the truth, made up excuses and just outright lied. It wasn't a very nice experience because it took just as long to get the truth as it did for all the interviews. the recruitment agency was extremely embarrassed as it just wasted 2 months of everyone's time.
I cannot understand why people could not just be honest and tell me the role was put on hold.
All was well until the upper management were involved in the USA and UK. Then it all went dishonest.
