Contacted via recruiter after applying on line. Had a panel interview and 2 individual interviews with Actuaries. Standard questions about QA processes and walk through of their current processes. After the last interview, it sounded like they didn't actually know what they needed from someone in this role and the position was closed.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Arch Capital Group
Interview
Applied online, was contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen. When asking the recruiter high level questions, they were unable to answer. Moved on to the hiring manager interview, who at one point indicated he's unsure what is needed in this role but he explained the problem the company is trying to solve. The role would have reported into a non IT manager and not a part of the IT group. 4 panel interviews later (mainly to assess team fit), while waiting for a final interview an email was sent an hour before indicating the role 'changed directions' and my interview was cancelled. All of the interview questions were open ended and non technical as the teams were not technical and were venturing into a new part of technology. Terrible candidate experience, bewildering that a role could be opened while not being sure what was truly needed. There were many solutions and partnership opportunities to the problem the business was trying to solve and the whole process displayed how disconnected internal teams are.
