I applied online based on an ad I saw in a structural engineering journal. I got contacted by the recruiter. The first interview was really good. The second interview consisted of me and my potential boss. He did a good job about explaining what the company did and how I was a fit in the firm. The third interview consisted of three young people I would be working for. They had no idea what to look for in a supervisor. I could tell they were completely clueless. They were upset that they had not been getting any guidance because their boss was extremely busy. I knew they needed help from someone with more experience like myself. It felt more like going on a date than anything else. Who allows potential bosses to be interviewed by the people they are working for? Not too many firms do this. I knew something was up when I was told I was not a group fit. When I asked for specifics from the recruiter, I was not given any. I think this is code for age discrimination. That recruiter lied about our conversations. He lied about what was recorded on tape. The recruiter interrupted me while I was talking. He cut me off whenever the conversation was critical of him. I can only imagine how they design their structures. This recruiter promised he would be contacting me for future jobs. I could tell he was lying because he could not understand what group fit is. According to the email, the position has been cancelled yet it is still posted online for all to apply. Makes candidates wonder whether their positions are fake.
