Asbury Automotive interview questions

You sit with several managers in succession, each asking different questions and engaging you in conversation about topics that deal with your personal drive to the sales process and frustrations in previous jobs. They want you to engage in developing rapport and selling yourself to them. The purpose of the interview is to gauge your ability to make people like you and to maintain control of a conversation by asking questions. Once you feel they are finished with the interview, it is your job to ask for the job, and to get a commitment from the General Sales Manager or GM. If you fail to do this, they may not hire you. Always ask for the job, or ask if there is any reason why they would not hire you today. This is essentially what you will have to ask a buyer after you have gone through the sales process.

Pretty basic interview. Applied online with previous automotive industry experience. Was asked about my ability to answer a telephone (uhhh...) and availability. Also, as I'm a woman, was asked how well I deal with bold male personalities. It sounds sexist, but it's a valid question. Went over call volume and responsibilites, and was immediately sent for a drug test.
