Was contacted about a Statistician role via LinkedIn. Three weeks later, after several phonecalls I spoke to a HR person for an "informal" discussion. The next day I was told they wouldn't be proceeding with the application,
The interview process at Astellas was not great. I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn. The phone she called from was not great and it was hard to hear her describe the role. She put me forward which was fine.
Heard nothing for about 2 weeks. She then called and said she wanted a Teams meet so that she could verify my identity. She hadn't even submitted my application. I told her if the hiring manager wanted to speak to me, I was happy to but that I wasn't going to waste my time verifying my identity when I wasn't in the running yet.
A resourcing business partner then asked for a 20 minute Teams call during which I learned absolutely nothing new, went over the same details and wasted 20 minutes of my day. This company seems to like redundant Teams calls.
I was then emailed the next day with a note that the hiring manager was not going to progress me.
All in all, a complete, repeated waste of my time. I am not sure I would have continued with the application given the poor interview process, lack of updates and requests for Teams calls when my application hadn't been seen by the hiring manager.
I've given "difficult" as an answer to "interview difficulty" not for any technical reason but because the recruiting department made it like pulling teeth.
