The process begin in mid August 2018. It consisted of a 15 min phone screen, 30 min technical phone round and a 3 hour video round with the team.
I had applied for a different position but the HR thought I would be a better fit for this position.
There was a preliminary round about my background and a description about the new role with the HR.
The second round was a 30 minute technical round with the hiring manager. It took a week and half of emails for the recruiter to schedule the second round. This happened in the first week of September. The recruiter immediately sent out an email in a day or two asking for my availability for the final round as the hiring manager liked my profile.
After this round there was no communication from the HR for another week. After a couple of follow ups I was asked to come for an onsite to Virginia within 2 days, at my own expense with no reimbursement or assistance. On raising that as a concern, they decided to have a video interview. After which again the HR disappeared yet again. Repeated emails were ignored and the HR randomly went on PTO.
After a month, the HR decides to randomly show interest. It took him over a month to schedule the video interview. The interview was a 3 hour technical - behavioral round with the team members. I gave the final round on October 17th, 2018.
They said it would take a week to communicate the final decision as they were interviewing other candidates too. They also new I had another offer at hand. Didn't receive a decision till date.
You'd expect to hear something from them given the time you've invested in the interview. The overall process was frustrating and time consuming. I'm not sure if all the recruiters at Asurion are the same but it definitely sends out red flags about the company. The recruiter I was communicating with was very unprofessional.
