I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Athene (West Des Moines, IA) in Feb 2014
Interview
I was submitted for this 6 week position through an agency. The location has no visitor parking and I was forced to park in a spot far out from the building in single digit temps and below zero wind chills. The person I was supposed to interview with was not even part of the interview and the manager that was at the front desk was less than friendly and seemed irritated as soon as I met them and walked about 5 feet ahead of me and did not engage in any type of conversation while walking to the interview room.
During the interview I was cut off numerous times and rushed through my answers. When the interview was over I was also rushed out the door and was given an agitated look when I tried to put my coat on in the interview room.
A couple days later I received an email about my interview and was told they would not be moving forward with my on this because they felt I was not professional enough for the position and was unorganized. There were also comments made about my answers to the interview questions and examples given where my words were completely turned around and made to sound as if I was unprofessional, absent minded and unorganized.
Needless to say I have never in all my years of being in the work force had such a horrible experience and been misconstrue so badly. I understand that there are many different departments in this company and that there are numerous changes happening with them but I have no intention of working for a place that allows such horrible treatment of candidates. If this is any indication of how they treat their employees I will just be considering other options within my community.
