Interviewed in Sydney:
- online assessment test (copy/paste, OS, database, scripting)
- phone screening recruiter reads a written script
- surprisingly an interview with 2 managers (usually technical interview should come first), one of them quite good, the other okay. Managers arrive at a meeting 30 minutes late blaming a recruiter who could not synchronize the timing.
- interview with 2 technical specialists (one not originally from Australia), who ask simple questions about Linux, Windows, wifi troubleshooting etc.
All recruiter, manager and techs probe a lot of information about current and previous jobs and experiences.
As a result, the recruiter comes back saying that technical specialists found "technical gaps" in your experience, a joke for a specialist with over 10 years of experience. The same vacancy is still posted after few months since the interview. Looks a usual story : vacancy never hired with the goal of gathering information and visibility of the process. The tech guys perhaps afraid of competition and prefer their own folks.
Bottom line the company looks big, known and nice , in reality depends on who you meet with in that big company. In my case waste of time. Not recommended.
