Submitted resume online and received a call from a recruiter the following day to set up an interview. Had a very positive 20 minute interview with the recruiter who said it would be a perfect fit and went into depth describing the team members involved and how great it will be working with them. The recruiter promised to set up interviews with four team members the following week. The following week went by and I didn't hear anything back at all. I followed up mid-week through text and never got a response. Emailed at the end of the week and was told I would get an update on Monday. Followed up the following week two more times via email and never got a response. Finally got an email two weeks after the initial interview stating that they would be pursuing other candidates. Went from being a perfect fit with a guaranteed interview to being ghosted along the way and not getting a chance to get an interview in the next round at all. Pretty poor communication skills. I understand that the recruiter isn't going to do the hiring, but it was a drastic turnaround. It's unprofessional to promise specific updates and then cannot even return communication. It would be better to know the truth rather than refusing to respond.
