I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AvalonBay Communities (Brooklyn, NY) in Jun 2023
Interview
It is a fairly simple interview process, it includes quite a few rounds which can be exhausting. The panel will weave out candidates who don't fit the culture. The interview felt more like a conversation rather than a Q&A. The interview process is relatively straightforward but can be tiring due to several rounds. The panel eliminates candidates who do not align with the company culture. Overall, the interview felt more like a conversation than a traditional Q&A.

Interview
I was really excited to apply for this opportunity after having very little experience initially. I did two rounds of interviews and then I was hired, and given a very warm welcome but after being on site for two weeks, I was entirely on my own and it pretty much went downhill from there.
The interview process takes a while if you are an external candidate. I first applied in Marc 2022 and then I had my interview in June 2022 and didn't hear back until August, then started at the end of August.
Pretty standard interview process. interview was with the on-site property manager for the community. They asked the general questions about experience, goals, etc. very straight forward. After the formal interview, the assistant manager took me on a quick tour of the community and I then was asked to give a mock to the property manager, as if I were touring a real potential customer which was really fun! I received a formal offer a couple of days later and accepted.
