A normal screening call with hiring manager led to the next round of interviews. Four in-person interviews in the same morning. All back-to-back. Started with a 4-person panel powerpoint presentation. Met with hiring manager, department director, and lastly the other PM. The panel presentation they had asked me to prepare was awkward because clearly no one wanted to participate besides the hiring manager. Interview with the hiring manager was normal and overall positive. Interview with the director was a train wreck and shockingly unprofessional on his part. He did not like that my career path into product management did not start with sales. He was a standard egotistical sales thoroughbred and increasingly grilled me with sales-specific questions but failed to ask literally any questions on the several other responsibilities of the Product Manager role. If he didn't like my resume that much, then I should not have been invited to interviews but I maintained my professional decorum. To my surprise and disgust, it culminated with him asking, "Without sales experience, explain to me why the sales team should listen to you OR EVEN RESPECT YOU?" I was shocked and obviously insulted by this individual. The hints of rampant Avanos toxicity during the panel presentation were on full display with this animal. Even the interview with the other product manager produced information that the company culture was toxic with poor employee happiness. Although the hiring manager seemed amicable and driven, you should AVOID THIS COMPANY AND BELIEVE THE LOW RATINGS.

The interview process was very unprofessional and totally misaligned. After every interview there is silence for a month and a sudden communication for the next round. almost 3 months of unstructured and sluggish interaction. The other company which started the process almost 48 days later to Avanos, offered the position much before the Avanos could take the final decision, so had to deny Avanos for this time. I don't recommend to join any organisation which lack thought clarity and is unstructured.
