      I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AvantStay (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2020

      Interview

      I had a great initial interview with the Head of VP affairs. After the interview I was told that I would be contacted by the talent lead and given a challenge to complete. My interactions with the talent lead were practically non existent. I had to follow up about receiving the challenge more than once and often received no response. Once I received the challenge, I spent over 10 hours working on it and sent it back within the allotted time frame. Crickets. I followed up after a few weeks and did not hear back. I am only to assume that my work was not what they were looking for but common decency would be to at least acknowledge that the challenge had been received. Feedback is also important. While I understand that not all companies respect their candidates or care to provide adequate feedback, as someone who has played a key role in talent acquisition this is not a good practice when securing future talent or when trying to establish a competitive advantage. It’s unfortunate however, that a hospitality company fails to provide a positive recruiting and interviewing experience. I hope this is not a reflection of how they conduct business with their customers.
