I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AvantStay (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
HR person reached out to chat. Talked for 30 minutes about company and culture. They were very informative and did a great job.
A couple interviews later with fairly normal video meetings with upper management they assigned a skill assessment which is actually a hugely embarrassingly vague and ridiculous project. I implore you not to waste your time. If you are like me…any form-of a perfectionist you will put way too much effort into it and they will literally barely glance at it.
Finally had a “panel” interview which was just a group of current employees. I’ve never had a worse “panel” interview. It was so unprofessional. The group complained about EVERYTHING AvantStay. One employee in particular went on and on about how little communication there was, they wouldn’t provide any of the tools they need to succeed and that they never had a day off and couldn’t get a vacation. They barely let me speak and seemed condescending and standoffish. It felt like something else was going on behind the scenes and they were all angry.
After about 8 minutes in I had decided this was not the company or position for me. It sounds like things are chaotic at AvantStay. Their employees don’t seem happy and are trying to talk you out if working there. Mission accomplished! I hope they get it together bc it seems like a great idea. I think I’ll stick to booking with my old school VRBO & AirBnb for now. I can’t imagine what is going on behind the scenes if they allow their employees to chase potential employees and customers off like this.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AvantStay in Apr 2022
Interview
The interview process had three rounds: two with different directors and one with a working colleague. Each interview was 30-45 mins or so. Last interview an assignment was given to show your knowledge.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AvantStay (Austin, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
Quite frankly, horrible. The recruiter interview was I thought too casual, but that was even better than the hiring manager I was passed to. Couldn't even show up via video. Then, completely ghosted even after identifying the next steps would be an assessment.
