I was interviewed by the hiring manager by phone and then requested to participate in an onsite interview with him as well as another Director. Not only did the hiring manager ask me questions that were NOT related to the position (electronics sourcing experience), but he didn't express any respect towards me during or before the interview in terms of the breadth of my career experiences. And despite having 35 years of experience (all with respected Fortune 50 companies), 7 professional certifications, and a decorated US Marine Corps combat veteran, Avantor summarily rejected me, stating that I didn't have sufficient experience for the role. Furthermore, their rejection letter stated a position I didn't apply for at all. Consequently, your interview at Avantor will entail people who don't ask relevant questions, interview you for the wrong position, and don't have any respect for your experience or even your military service. Furthermore, as many of their employees are leaving the company because of recent layoffs and an unpopular relocation of their headquarters facility, you should there steer clear of this employer.
