Aya Healthcare interview questions

I received a calendar invite to speak with a recruiter. No one ever called me. After my call would have been scheduled to end, I receive an email from the same recruiter, thanking me for my time, how it was great hearing about my background and how it aligns with the needs of the team, and that they would be in touch regarding next steps. Confused, I responded to let the recruiter know I never received a call, so the email I received must have been for someone else. The repons I received back was that they already found someone for the role and my calendar invite should have cancelled. Well, it didn't and that makes no sense to get an email thanking me for my time and you're going to keep me posted on next steps if you already hired someone for the position. I think I dodged a bullet here if that is how they operate.
