Interview
The process was quite smooth and the offer letter was released within a few days. I had 2 rounds of interview wherein both were technical. First round took about 45 mins and the other one around 30 minutes,
I applied online. I interviewed at BDO (San Juan, PR) in Jun 2026
Interview
A short phone screening call with an HR rep, a one hour long video interview with a team manager, followed by an offer and negotiations entirely over email. In each communication step, they kept lowering the salary range and ultimately offered nearly $20K below the initial salary range that had been explicitly confirmed by the HR rep. The position was also listed as hybrid and in the interviews they said they allow a few days of remote work each week, yet in their offer they said no remote work. Upon negotiations, they refused any counteroffers and did not even bother to have a conversation about it, only sent a dismissive 2 sentence email. It was the most bizarre and unprofessional negotiations process I have ever experienced. Seems like they intentionally try to wear down and pressure candidates into bad offers through drawn out false advertising. As such, I declined the job offer not solely because of the salary but because of the lack of transparency, management skills and basic respect displayed by the management and hiring team.

How similar was my previous work to the open position
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BDO
Interview
One interview with senior manager and one interview with partner. The interviews themselves were fine, both interviewers were nice enough and the questions weren't difficult.
However, what I was really frustrated about was that they just ghosted me right after the interviews. The HR asked for some additional materials after my partner interview, I provided it and I never heard back from them ever again. I sent follow up emails and they never bothered replying, while I see them still being active on Linkedin trying to recruit people for the role.

Question 1
What are your weaknesses?
What was the most difficult thing at your previous role?
Hostile Interview, one of them, mentioned about getting PIP. So, I assume that if I make a slight wrong move, I am getting PIP is it? I never encounter any of the big4 interviews mentioned of getting PIP. Instead of getting PIP, how about you mentioned about train your staff properly? Since you have the highest expectation towards the staff, I also have the highest expectation from you to train and motivate us properly so we can meet your silly expectation.
