Many here have described BELAY's application process. My perspective is that it's tedious, but not hard. I highly suggest taking practice tests for the PI cognitive assessment. You need to figure out which question types you're good at in order to set your strategy. If you think you can ace it without understanding what you're in for, it will catch you off guard. Be genuine in your answers for the final short answer questions (Ex: Who inspires you and why?) - the person interviewing me brought up my responses first thing in our conversation. After submitting my application, I was contacted a couple days later to set up the interview. I was able to have my interview a week after that. It was about 30 minutes. Really flowed like a conversation. We went through my experience/tech I'm familiar with. What time zone and type of client I'd prefer. At the end, I was told I'd be receiving a written offer following our call and that the next steps would be to complete onboarding docs and join a call. It was genuinely exciting! From my research BELAY is highly respected and the quality of VA is very high. Maybe I'm cynical... I feel like part of the psychology of the intensive application is to make candidates who are extended the offer feel like they "made it"/ feel exclusive... and more inclined to accept a pretty low hourly rate ($18-$21/hour before setting aside taxes). However, what is lacking in pay is made up for in flexibility. It shifted my perspective to learn that BELAY charges their clients about twice that rate for their services, though. Additionally, if you'd like to pursue corporate opportunities with BELAY, you actually need to live within 50 miles of Atlanta. While I appreciate BELAY's values and felt confident that I'd really enjoy the work, I felt it wasn't the right fit for me longterm.
