One online interview seemed to go well and answered all questions well. I was called in for a second interview. Met the same person, plus the head of one of the desks. Spoke for an hour and a half. There was no formal structure in the conversation, but the interviewer seemed impressed and said "If you decide to join us" So I presumed I had the job. She said at the last second "I would like to call you back to meet my boss next week" I believed that to be the final box-ticking exercise. I said I would be available on Thursdays and Fridays. 9 working days passed and even when the recruiter had chased several times to confirm an interview time, I then said to the recruiter that it would be too last minute to call me in, and they would have to arrange another week. The next day the recruiter rang me saying that they wouldn't be moving forward with my candidacy, with no explanation. Totally unprofessional and a waste of time.
