I was contacted by a recruiter from the Florida offices to schedule a phone interview. I set the appointment for 1PM and was contacted by the Syracuse recruiter to do the typical go over job and initial phone screen. She was a VERY nice lady and sounded very passionate about what she did. At the end she immediately wanted to schedule an in person meeting at the Syracuse sales office. She informed me she was sending over an email to confirm the time and who I was meeting with, and to reply once I got it. That didn’t come till the next day. Oh well, I got over it thinking it was a fluke. I arrived 15 minutes before the interview started, and was met at the exact meeting time by one of the individuals who was named in the confirmation email. I had to ask for his name because he didn’t introduce himself. I was promptly told as we were walking into the conference room that “we were going to make it quick today” as I guess they had “unexpected meetings” come up. We sit in the conference room and then try to call a second individual on their Skype system. Well that didn’t work so the guy sat on his phone for about 5-7 minutes doing whatever. As he was not at all paying attention to me, he was rambling on about “the fantastic culture” at BHG and what not. We then started to actually do the interview when his phone rang. It was one of the other individuals who was supposed to be there. He put it on speaker phone and we started over. At this point, I have no idea where the third guy is or if there will even be one as he hasn’t been mentioned. They never really asked me questions about why I wanted to come to BHG, or why I felt I would be a good fit. It was very rushed by the individuals on the phone. At the end, I asked if there was anything in my background that would prevent them from extending an offer. The response I got was, “We’ve interviewed about 30 people so far, so really its just your competitors that would prevent you from getting an offer” I wasn’t even given an opportunity to even allow them to make that assessment! Before all that, any question I posed, they made it seem like I was interrupting their day. I was then rushed out the door and told “you may hear from us by Friday”. To say I felt belittled and had my time wasted is such an understatement to how I felt walking out the door.
