I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BMO US (Milwaukee, WI) in Jul 2015
Interview
I first applied in April in response to a job posted online, and the recruiter contacted me very soon after my submission to schedule a phone screening. After the phone interview, he said he'd pass my information along immediately, but I never heard from the branch manager. In June, I applied for the same position in a neighboring region. That recruiter confirmed my suspicion that the first branch was reevaluating their staffing needs before hiring, but she was interested in passing my information to a new branch manager. I met with several managers at many locations before they found a location for me. Although I experienced a lot of runaround, I was able to ask many employees the same questions and gauge their answers for consistency and get a better understanding of the company. Every meeting was very conversational, and, even though the longest was about 2 hours, I was very relaxed and comfortable speaking about my experience and asking difficult questions. The company does seem to promote from within, so be advised that the application process can take several weeks and/or months. They are very interested in hiring and retaining good employees, so if you have a strong application and phone interview, they will find a place for you if you're patient.
