      Product Manager Interview

      I interviewed at BRAIN CORP

      Interview

Interview was pretty straightforward - met with hiring manager and colleagues and then the final interview was with the VP. The only con is that by the time I started on the team, there was a re-org and whom I interviewed with left. Change is constant.

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at BRAIN CORP (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

Very bias, disorganized, and unprofessional HR recruiters. One of the recruiters clearly does not understand software development. They are trained to ask questions but I don’t think they really understand the answers or even consider asking for clarifications. During the interview screening process, I felt the ‘you’re not good enough’ attitude from the senior recruiter. I knew they weren’t going to pass me through just from the sense of entitlement in their voice. I didn’t even get a follow up nor did I feel like following up myself. After a week, a different recruiter contacted me for another phone screening. She didn’t realize I was already screened. She seemed to think I was a good fit until I mentioned that the first recruiter didn’t. This is how disorganized and inconsistent they are. HR is the first impression and if they don’t give you a good first impression of the company, you may want to look elsewhere. The hiring manager will always know best. These recruiters often times do not really know and I don’t think they give everyone a fair assessment. They are doing the hiring managers a disservice. Advice to hiring managers, review the resumes and do the phone screening yourselves for candidates that may be a fit based on their resume. Have the recruiters just ask basic questions and not a deep dive of what you may be looking for.
