Standard consulting interview and cases,. the interviewer gave me a scenario where a company’s profits had been declining, and they wanted help figuring out why. I started by asking a few clarifying questions to understand the industry, the company’s business model, and whether there had been any recent changes in the market.
Once I had a better grasp of the situation, I laid out a framework to analyze the problem. I decided to look at it from a profitability angle—breaking down revenues and costs to see if I could identify where the issue might be. The interviewer guided me through the process, giving me some data along the way, like sales trends and cost breakdowns, which I had to interpret on the spot.
